In my artistic practice, I strive to develop a synthesis between internal and external stimuli; between the individual and the collective. I seek to connect through emotional, material and cerebral contact. My installations introduce the viewer into an environment where cognitive (mental) connections take tangible (physical) form. The intention behind the work I create is to force the viewer into contemplative inaction, moments to re-evaluate perceptions and psychological understandings of the visual world, our shared reality. Intuition is heavily incorporated into my work ethic and my way of making. Through engaging my levels of consciousness I am able to develop a language which is informed by my emotions, perceptions, and memories. Together, these three features of cognition are the sources which motivate the work I create.
